The Relationship On Self-esteem,Parenting Style Andsubjective Well-being Of Senior Pupilsin Mulao Ethnic Areas | | Posted on:2022-08-14 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:N Xie | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2507306485481904 | Subject:Mental health education | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | Happiness is one of the hottest issue what has attracted the attention of society,people work hard for it.The study on subjective well-being has been a hot issue in the field of positive psychology.Psychologists believe that subjective well-being is an overall assessment of the state of your life based on the subjective criteria.It is an important and comprehensive psychological indicator to measure the quality of personal and social life.Over the years,the research of subjective well-being is becoming more and more deeper.Among many factors that affect subjective well-being,parenting style is one of them.Parenting style plays an important role in children’s development and effects their mental health and happiness.In addition,elf-esteem is generally considered the strong predictor of subjective well-being.It is generally accepted that people with the higher level of self-esteem,who has the higher level of subjective well-being.And the level of self-esteem is also affected by different parenting style.There are close and complex relationships between them.China is a multi-ethnic country,the people of all ethnic groups are members of the Chinese nation,the self-esteem,parenting style and subjective well-being in members of ethnic minority areas affects the stability of the country and the region,as well as the individual’s mental health and personality development.Mulao is one of ethnic minorities in South China,mainly distributed in the Mulao autonomous county of Luocheng,Guangxi.Mulao has a long history.With the integration of ethnic culture and modern culture,rapid development of economy and the implementation of poverty alleviation policy in Ethnic Areas,great changes have taken place in people’s life.Children in Mulao ethnic areas who are growing up and living in this context,what kind of changes have the self-esteem and parenting style experienced? What are the effects on people’s subjective well-being? And what is the status quo of the self-esteem,parenting style and subjective well-being of children in Mulao ethnic areas? Senior pupils of Mulao ethnic areas as research object,this study investigate the status quo and characteristics about their self-esteem,parenting style and subjective well-being,analysis the relationship between the two variables,and further discusses the ways of parenting style,and self-esteem on the influence mechanism of subjective well-being in senior pupils of Mulao ethnic areas,in order to enrich the theory of positive psychology research results,for the mental health education in children of ethnic minorities to provide some reference and enlightenment.This study adopts the method of investigation.513 senior pupils of Mulao ethnic areas in two primary schools in Luocheng were surveyed by using the Rosenberg self-esteem scale(SES),Short-Enga Minnen Barndoms Uppfostran Chinese Version(s-EMBU-C),Adolescent Subjective Well-being Scale.SPSS 22.0 and Mplus 8.3 were used to make statistics,collation and analysis of the data.The research results are as follows:(1)The self-esteem of senior pupils in Mulao ethnic areas is intermediate and above level.The self-esteem of fifth graders is higher than sixth graders.(2)The parenting style of senior pupils in Mulao ethnic areas is combined with positive parenting style and negative parenting style,moreover it’s inclined to emotional warmth and over protection.Compare with girls,the boys feel more paternal rejection and paternal over protection;non-single children feel more parenting over protection than single-children;Compare with living-with-parents children,left-behind children feel more paternal over protection;the fifth graders feel more paternal over protection and positive parenting style.(3)The subjective well-being of senior pupils in Mulao ethnic areas is intermediate and above level.The boys’ satisfaction in learning is higher than girls;rural students feel more negative emotion than urban students;the fifth graders feel more happiness than the sixth graders.(4)The positive paternal parenting style has a positive influence on self-esteem,the negative maternal parenting style has a negative influence on self-esteem;self-esteem and the positive parenting style have positive influences on adolescent student’s life satisfaction;the positive paternal parenting style,the self-esteem,the positive maternal parenting style and the negative paternal parenting style have positive influences on positive emotion,the negative maternal parenting style has a negative influence on positive emotion;the negative parenting style have positive influences on negative emotion,the self-esteem has a negative influence on negative emotion.(5)Self-esteem plays intermediary role between parenting style and subjective well-being. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Mulao ethnic areas, self-esteem, parenting style, subjective well-being | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
