Abstract/Summary:
As the "window of the soul",the visual system plays an indispensable role in people’s perception of external information and understanding of the objective world. At least 80%-90% of information is input to the brain from the visual system every day. However, the human brain cannot process massive information at one time, which requires the visual working memory to temporarily store and manipulate the visual information in the environment,so that the human brain can form a unified and clear understanding of the external discrete, dynamic and unpredictable visual stimuli.Visual working memory is the basis of higher cognition, but its storage capacity is limited, which requires it to effectively encode and process visual information in the environment. In recent years, scholars have put forward the "visual perception and visual working memory interaction model",broke the traditional cognition that visual working memory is the later stage of visual perception, think there have a dynamic interaction that visual perception and visual working memory object information process online,so the characterization of visual perception can be parallel to the visual working memory.Sports field studies have shown that long-term experience in sports can promote the performance of visual perception, there are also some studies have shown that exercise can improve visual working memory performance,so this study wanted to base the visual working memory and visual perception interactive model to explore the difference that sport category effects on visual working memory, which enrich the cognitive studies of sport-specific skills, but also provides new thought of exercise for visual cognitive aging. In this study,we used two perceptual materials designed by predecessors based on spatial-temporal correlation theory, adopted change detection paradigm and combined with ERP technology to carry out a mixed experimental design of 3(college students engaged in open sports, college students engaged in locked-in sports, and ordinary college students)×2(perceptual organization,non-perceptual organization). The results are as follows:1.The interaction between perceptual organization category and sport-specific category was significant in behavioral result. The accuracy of visual working memory in the basketball group and the golf group was significantly higher in the perceptual organization condition than in the non-perceptual organization condition, while there was no significant difference in the non-perceptual organization condition among ordinary college students.2.As for the EEG results, there were significant differences in the P1 and N1 latency of the P7 electrode point in the posterior parietal lobe of the sports category, and the latency of the basketball group was longer than that of the golf group and the ordinary college students group. In the occipitotemporal lobe PO8 electrode point, there was a significant difference in P1,because the interaction of sports category and perceptual organization. The latency of basketball group in the perceptual organized condition was smaller than in that no perceptual organized condition. The difference of perceived tissue on the peak of O2,PO8 and P8 electrode point N1 was significant, and the peak of perceptive tissue was significantly smaller than that of non-perceptive tissue.
