Research purposes:Visuospatial working memory is an imponant part of working memory, which is a memory system with limited capacity.Existing studies have proved that sports can promote adolescents'working memory. This paper studies the teaching contents of different sports classes(open sports and closed sports).(1)To explore whether junior middle school students who mainly teach open sports have better visual working memory than junior middle school students who teach closed sports.(2)To record visual working memory. The two parts of memory are studied to analyze the possible mechanism of this advantage.Research object and methods:Using convenient sampling method, junior high school students were divided into open sports teaching group(20 people, half male and half female),closed sports teaching group(20 people, half male and half female).According to the school's arrangement for junior middle school physical education classes, two physical education classes a week,45 minutes each time, the open sports teaching group takes open sports as the main teaching content, and the closed sports teaching group takes closed sports as the main teaching content, carries out eight weeks of teaching intervention, and tests the changes of the working memory ability of junior middle school students in visual space before and after the experiment. In order to explore the reasons why different project teaching has different effects on junior high school students' visual-spatial working memory, this study also separates the storage and operation of visual-spatial working memory.Visual-spatial short-term memory task is used to test the visual-spatial storage ability, and visual-spatial mental rotation task is used to test the visual-spatial operation ability. The results showed that in visual spatial working memory task, after teaching intervention, the correct rate and reaction time of open sports teaching group and closed sports teaching group were signficantly improved, and the correct rate of open sports teaching group was significantly higher than that of closed sports teaching group. There was no significant difference in reaction time between open sports teaching group and closed sports teaching group. In visual spatial short-term memory task, after teaching intervention, the reaction time of both groups was significantly reduced. The response time of open sports teaching group was significantly lower than that of closed sports teaching group, and there was no significant difference in the correct rate.In the visual-spatial mental rotation task, there was no significant difference in response time and correct rate between the open sports teaching group and the closed sports teaching group before and after the experiment.Research conclusions:(1)Exercise in physical education class can promote the visual-spatial working memory of junior high school students, and both open and closed sports can promote the visual-spatial working memory of junior high school students.(2)Open sports as the main teaching content is better than closed sports as the main teaching content.(3)The influence of physical education on the working memory of visual space of junior high school students is mainly manifested in the ability to store information in visual space, but not in the ability to operate visual space.
