Liu Funian(1914-2001)is one of the most influential educators in China since the founding of the people’s Republic of China.As a socialist educator with Chinese characteristics,Liu Funian devoted his whole life to the work of higher normal education and made outstanding contributions to the Chinese education,especially the normal education.The purpose of this study is to explore Liu’s teacher education thought.The theory of Liu’s teacher training is summarized as "knowledge,ability and creative teacher training".It mainly expounds Liu’s "knowledge,ability and creative teacher" training thought from four aspects:ideological origin,ideological connotation,training practice and contemporary education enlightenment.The first part,analyze the Liu’s educational experience and the related works can be found,his education thought is affected by Chinese traditional education thought ray,also has the profound connotation of marxism,the dialectical materialism epistemology and theory with practice is always through his education thought,but in different stages are also affected by different education thought.In the second part,from the three aspects of knowledge-based teachers,ability-based teachers and creative teachers,the author analyzes the specific construction of "knowledge,ability and creative teachers" in Liu funian.The knowledge-based teachers must have diversified basic knowledge and solid professional knowledge;the ability-based teachers emphasize moral ability,aesthetic ability and scientific teaching ability;the creative teachers require teaching ability Teachers should study education,be lifelong learners and carry out creative teaching.The third part analyzes the cultivation of "knowledge,ability and creative teachers" from the aspects of training content,training means and training guarantee.Starting from the reform of normal education,the construction of key normal universities,key disciplines and strengthening the construction of teachers’ team provide support conditions for teachers’ training.Enrich the content of teacher training from three aspects of basic professional and intelligent;Using the teaching material practice and the evaluation method to promote the teacher training effect.The last part makes some comments on Liu’s thought of teacher training,in which we can see the patriotism,education enthusiasm and developmental vision throughout.The enlightenment to China’s contemporary teacher education includes four aspects:first,general education cultivates the multi-knowledge structure of normal university students,and pays attention to the selection of professional textbooks to ensure that normal university students master professional knowledge;The second is to ensure the practice effect,promote the normal university students to transform the education knowledge into the teaching ability,innovate the practice way,promote the normal university students to improve the practice ability steadily;Thirdly,we should cultivate creative and high-quality talents for future education.The fourth is normal colleges seize the development opportunity and accurately positioning the development goals.
