One-third of a person’s life is spent in sleep.Adequate sleep is essential to human health and well-being.Healthy body and psychology are the most powerful weapons against diseases.Even if the bedtime is scheduled in advance,but as soon as it’s near bedtime,they immerse themselves in other activities,delay the bedtime,and don’t fall asleep according to the planned time.This is what researchers call bedtime procrastination.With the development and progress of modern society,contemporary college students basically have a smart phone in their hands.The mobile phone is no longer just a link to keep in touch.It has more and more functions and an endless stream of entertainment apps.APPs continue to push new information based on individual browsing information preferences.According to the news,they are immersed in various entertainment activities on mobile phones and have a strong dependence on mobile phones.In addition,they have consumed a lot of self-control energy during the day when they are busy with study and work tasks.At night,when the individual self-control energy is lowest,think Satisfying their desire to relax through mobile phones Individuals are prone to indulge in it,delay bedtime,and especially gradually develop the habit of playing mobile phones before going to bed.Based on this,this study analyzes the phenomenon of College Students’ procrastination before bedtime through the combination of qualitative and quantitative research on college students.In quantitative aspect,582 college students were investigated with self-control scale,mobile phone dependence scale and bedtime procrastination scale,Objective to understand the current situation of College Students’ bedtime procrastination and the relationship among bedtime procrastination,self-control and mobile phone dependence;Qualitatively,10 college students with bedtime procrastination were recruited to conduct in-depth interviews to understand their inner activities of bedtime procrastination,and analyze the factors influencing their bedtime procrastination,so as to provide good countermeasures for the intervention of College Students’ bedtime procrastination.The result as follows:The qualitative results:(1)There are two types of procrastination: first,passive procrastination.Second,initiative procrastination.(2)The main activities of bedtime procrastination are playing mobile phones and catching up on homework.(3)At that time,the feeling of playing mobile phone was satisfied,happy,cool,painful but happy.At that time,the feeling of catching up with homework was anxiety.(4)The main reasons for the delay before bedtime are: overcompensate;do nothing;low self-control.(5)Consequences: poor spirits,bad mood.(6)Attitude: Delaying before going to bed is a bad habit.The quantitative results:(1)On the whole,college students’ self-control is low,mobile phone dependence is high,and the level of procrastination before bedtime is high.(2)There is no significant difference in demographic variables of College Students’ bedtime procrastination.(3)The results show that self-control is negatively correlated with bedtime procrastination,self-control is negatively correlated with mobile phone dependence,and mobile phone dependence is positively correlated with bedtime procrastination.(4)Mobile phone dependence plays a partial mediating role in the effect of self-control on College Students’ bedtime procrastination.Conclusion:(1)The results show that most college students with bedtime procrastination mainly play mobile phones,and their inner feelings are more satisfied.The main reasons for bedtime procrastination are cherishing time,over compensation,doing nothing,and low self-control.The main consequences of bedtime procrastination are poor mental state,bad mood,and lack of self-control The attitude of procrastination before bedtime is that I know it’s not good.(2)The results of the questionnaire show that mobile phone dependence plays a mediating role in the effect of self-control on bedtime procrastination. |
