| With the end of the "school merger",many small-scale schools and teaching centers have been retained,becoming the important means to ensure equity in urban and rural education and improve the quality of rural education.Now,rural small-scale schools’ a lot of problems of teachers have also received more and more attention.Teachers in rural small schools urgently need to improve their professional development level.Teaching and research activities have always been an important way to promote the professional development of teachers and improve the quality of teaching.However,through observation and survey,it is found that teaching and research activities in small and rural schools have problems such as superficial activities,lack of normal implementation,lack of professional guidance,and low-level repetition.These problems reflect that current teaching and research activities are poor pertinence,lack of normalized implementation,lack of professional guidance,and rigid form.Such teaching and research activities lead to the low level of professional development of teachers in rural primary schools,poor teaching quality of schools,and do not give full play to the value of teaching and research activities.However,there is still a kind of informal "invisible" teaching and research activities in rural small-scale schools,that is,teachers’ spontaneous teaching and research activities based on school teaching practice,including discussion among teachers and principals opening the door to attend classes.Although it is carried out spontaneously by teachers without any planning and organization,and its effectiveness is relatively poor,it is based on the actual needs of teachers and has a strong pertinence,which is the rudimentary form of an ideal organization of teaching and research activities.To explore the teaching and research activities that are more suitable for rural smallscale schools,this paper will start from this kind of unformed teaching and research activities,and try to find out a kind of teaching and research activities with strong adaptability,flexible organization,and implementation,comprehensive teaching,and research content and harmonious teaching and research atmosphere.In the process of developing school-based teaching research in rural small-scale schools,the first step is to make clear the objective of their activities.School-based teaching and research activities should not only focus on teaching practice,devote to the timely solution of teachers’ teaching problems,but also cultivate teachers’ professional quality,improve their teaching level,but also put the reconstruction of school teaching and research culture in a prominent position,to realize the development of teachers,students,and schools in one.Secondly,the appropriate teaching and research content should be selected.First,the group of teaching and research problems should be determined,then the teaching and research problems should be analyzed and sorted out,and finally,the teaching and research topics suitable for rural small-scale schools should be summarized.Again,diversification of the way of activity is indispensable.Again,diversification of the way of activity is indispensable.On the one hand,the school should attach importance to the observation,learning,and reflection of teachers at the individual level,which should not only improve their attention to the problems in teaching practice and the hot issues in the society but also urge them to combine with their reflection to produce new experience.On the other hand,the school should also carry out "education salon","micro-classroom" and other collective activities,so that teachers in a democratic,equal and harmonious teaching and research atmosphere to open up ideas,deepen cooperation,change the way of learning.To achieve long-term sustainable development,small rural schools should have continuous professional guidance,high-quality teaching,and research resources,and a teaching and research team with professional development consciousness to provide support and guarantee for teaching and research activities.Specifically,the rural small-scale schools can design the school-based teaching and research support system from four aspects: carrying out school-based training,building a network research platform,building a developmental evaluation system,and improving the dynamic mechanism.These elements can provide internal and external support for schoolbased teaching research and ensure its effectiveness and sustainability. |
