The quality of teachers affects that of education,so the quality of rural teachers affects that of rural education.Teacher professional development has always been the focus of education research,and the quality of teachers is directly proportional to the development of the country.Nowadays,with the pace of social modernization shifting to an even faster gear,the study of the teacher professional development,especially that of small-scale schools in rural areas,has great implications for the development of national education.At present,a large number of small-scale schools still exist in some rural areas,especially in remote areas with low economic development.Blind "removal and merger" reform of schools of this sort really goes against educational law.Running small-scale schools in rural areas is part and parcel of perfect education,so due attention should be paid to those schools and the teachers within.The situation of teachers in these schools is far from being optimistic,as their low income,heavy tasks,poor working conditions and lack of teaching enthusiasm show.Under the guidance of teachers’ professional development theories,especially rural areas in China,the paper collects the literature of small-scale schools and teachers’ professional development at home and abroad.uses questionnaires and interviews to investigate the present situation and predicament of the teachers’ professional development in rural small-scale schools by using the questionnaire method and interview method to investigate the Longshan of the national poor county-Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture.Through investigation,it is found that the rural small-scale school teachers in the field of age,education,professional title and so on unreasonable.There are some problems in the professional development of teachers in small-scale schools:deviation of professional concept,irrational structure of professional knowledge,lack of professional competence,and infirm professional attitude and motivation.Based on these,this paper analyzes the particularity of the post,the lack of necessary funds and promotion,and the weak consciousness of teachers’self-development,which has caused the difficulties of the teachers’professional development.Finally,this paper analyzes the countermeasures of solving the above predicament from three levels of the country,school and teacher.The state should increase funding and improve the treatment of teachers,according to the policy and the teachers and students regular the teacher,the perfect teacher supplementary policy and the establishment local teacher troop,the implementation related policy;schools should pay special attention to the professional development of young teachers,broaden the way of professional development of teachers;the individual measures should be taken by teachers to establish the consciousness of self development. |
