Objective: This study aims to understand the status and put forward strategies and suggestions so as to reduce the students’ social anxiety through exploring the influence of junior high school students’ mental resilience on social anxiety and exploring the mediating role of hope in the relationship between mental resilience and social anxiety,and the moderating role of emotional regulation self-efficacy in the relationship between mental resilience,hope and social anxiety.Methods: The study adopts the Resilience Scale for Chinese Adolescent,Children’s Hope Scale,Emotional Regulation Self-Efficacy of Chinese and Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale to carry out a questionnaire survey and collect valid data of 1055 totally among students in a middle school in Zhengzhou City.And this study uses SPSS 21.0 for data processing and analysising,the main methods include independent sample t-test,single factor analysis of variance,regression analysis,mediating effect test and moderated mediating test and so on.Result:Junior middle school students have significant differences between the variables of gender,whether they are only a child or not,their parents’ different marital status and relationship with their parents in mental resilience,hope,emotional regulation self-efficacy and social anxiety.Junior middle school students’ mental resilience,hope and emotional regulation self-efficacy have significant differences in their parents’ educational level,but social anxiety has no significant difference in the level of their parents’ education;(2)Mental resilience,hope and emotional regulation self-efficacy of junior middle school students are positively correlated with each other.Mental resilience,hope and emotional regulation self-efficacy are negatively correlated with social anxiety significantly;(3)Mental resilience has a significant direct prediction effect on social anxiety(β=-0.41,t=-13.44,p<0.01),and mental resilience positively predicts hope significantly(β=0.53,t=19.10,p<0.01),hope significantly negatively predicts social anxiety(β=-0.12,t=-3.69,p<0.01).And hope has a mediating role in the relationship between mental resilience and social anxiety among the junior middle school students,which direct effect and the mediation effect are 82.92% and 17.08%respectively;(4)The interactive item of hope and emotion regulation self-efficacy has a significantly negative prediction on social anxiety(β=-0.12,t=-4.27,p<0.001),and the interactive item of mental resilience and emotional regulation self-efficacy has a significantly positive prediction on social anxiety(β=0.06,t=2.14,p<0.05),the emotional regulation self-efficacy plays a moderating role in the relationship between mental resilience,hope and social anxiety among the junior middle school students.Conclusion:(1)Boys and the only child have significantly higher levels of mental resilience,hope and emotional regulation self-efficacy than girls and the non-only child separately,while girls and the non-only child have significantly higher level of social anxiety than boys and the only child separately;(2)Junior middle school students have significant differences between the variables of their parents’ different marital status and relationship with their parents in mental resilience,hope,emotional regulation self-efficacy and social anxiety.Junior middle school students’ mental resilience,hope and emotional regulation self-efficacy have significant differences in their parents’ educational level,but social anxiety has no significant difference in the level of their parents’ education;(3)Mental resilience,hope,emotional regulation self-efficacy and social anxiety of junior middle school students are significantly correlated with each other;Mental resilience has a significant direct prediction effect on social anxiety,and mental resilience positively predicts hope significantly,hope significantly negatively predicts social anxiety;(4)Hope has a mediating role in the relationship between mental resilience and social anxiety among the junior middle school students;(5)The emotional regulation self-efficacy plays a moderating role in the relationship between mental resilience,hope and social anxiety among the junior middle school students,which both to adjust the mental resilience’s influence on social anxiety,and adjust the hope’s influence on social anxiety.
