Abstract/Summary:
Focusing on China’s current social and economic development and the crucial task of poverty alleviation, the party’s 19 th congress report clearly pointed out that "improving the quality of employment and people’s income, promoting the integration and development of rural primary, secondary and tertiary industries, supporting and encouraging farmers’ employment and entrepreneurship, and broadening the channels of income increase." The Central Document No.1 issued in 2019 focuses on "promoting the transfer of rural labor force for employment, implementing more active employment policies, strengthening employment services and vocational skills training, and promoting the multi-channel transfer of rural labor force for employment and income increase." This shows that the party and the government attach great importance to the livelihood issues such as the transfer of rural labor force for employment and the increase of farmers’ income.Based on field survey data, this paper discusses the impact of rural labor force transfer on farmers’ income in Qichun County, aiming to provide practical policy recommendations for rural labor force transfer and farmers’ income increase in Qichun County.Through combing the relevant theoretical research on rural labor force transfer at home and abroad, this paper takes the rural labor force(head of household)in Qichun county as the research object to study the impact of rural labor force transfer on farmers’ income.First of all, through the preliminary analysis of survey data, farmers’ income is defined as wage income and family operational income, while transfer income and property income are not separately discussed due to the small sample size.Secondly, this paper uses OLS multiple regression model to analyze the characteristics of rural labor force in Qichun County(here refers to the head of the household and his family)in order to find out the influence of personal characteristics of rural labor force on farmers’ income.Through empirical analysis,we can draw the following conclusions:(1)The transfer of rural labor force in Qichun County has the most significant positive impact on farmers’ wage income. The rural household access network where the head of household is located has the most significant positive impact on the wage income of farmers in Qichun County, while the poverty status of farmers has the most significant negative correlation with the wage income of farmers in Qichun County.Secondly, the age, education level and wage income of rural labor force(head of household)in Qichun County show very significant correlation, with significant negative correlation and significant positive correlation respectively. Finally, the political situation, marital status and the transfer of cultivated land have a significant positive correlation with the wage income of farmers in Qichun County.(2)The transfer of rural labor force in Qichun County will have a significant negative impact on the peasant family operational income. However, the poverty situation ofpeasant households has the most significant negative impact on the peasant family operational income in Qichun County. In addition, the gender of rural labor force(head of household),the transfer of cultivated land(peasant household)and access to the network have a very significant positive impact on the rural family operational income in Qichun County.(Farmers)Distribution of Cultivated Land Factors and operational income,a Farmer’s Family in Qichun County,Show a Significant Negative Correlation. To sum up,the transfer of rural labor force in Qichun County has a significant impact on farmers’ wage income and family operational income. On this basis, this paper further discusses the factors that influence the rural labor force transfer in Qichun County on the farmers’ wage income and family operational income, and puts forward some policy suggestions to promote the rural labor force transfer in Qichun County and increase the farmers’ wage income and family operational income.
