Junior high school students in adolescent sex hormone growth,began to have a sense of sex,some questions related to sex began to generate curiosity and confusion,this period will produce more psychological problems.If these problems can not be solved,there may be psychological problems and obstacles as well as improper behavior.So it is very important to carry out sexual mental health course in this period.We should choose the curriculum idea,content and method to adapt to the requirements of contemporary social development and the level of junior middle school students’ sexual psychology development.At present,schools generally do not pay enough attention to sex education.Although teachers want to carry out sexual psychology courses,they do not know how to carry out them.There are many obstacles in the course of sexual psychology.In the research of this paper,397 junior middle school students in three grades from three different levels in Handan City,Hebei Province were selected.The group questionnaire survey was carried out by using adolescent sexual mental health questionnaire.The overall level of sexual mental health of junior middle school students and the factors influencing the level of sexual mental health were analyzed.Questionnaire and interview were used to investigate students and teachers,and to summarize the development of school psychological courses.Based on the results of the survey,the concept of empowering education was absorbed,and two classes with no significant difference in pretest were selected,which were divided into control class and experimental class.At last,it analyzes the effect of teaching by pre-test and post test,and reflects on the key points and methods of teaching.The results of this study are as follows:(1)The results show that the average value of the scale is 3.51,which is in the upper middle level.The average score of each scale was from high to low as sexual values(3.65),sexual adaptation(3.56),and sexual cognition(3.27).(2)The demography variables of different grades,genders,domiciles and parents’ education level have significant differences in the overall mental health level of students,and the students with boys,rural domiciles,junior one and parents’ education level are lower.(3)There are four aspects in the development of sexual mental health curriculum in schools: the lack of attention to sexual mental health curriculum in schools is in contradiction with the needs of students;teachers have different attitudes towards sexual mental health curriculum;teachers do not understand how to carry out the curriculum;sexual mental health curriculum is faced with many obstacles.(4)The intervention program of empowering sexual psychology course can improve the level of students’ sexual mental health.
