The problem of parents working outside and not being able to study and live with their children is very common and must be paid attention to.Family,school,society and other factors affect the reading of rural left-behind children.This paper takes jiushui primary school in dayu county as a case study to investigate and study the status of rural left-behind children’s extracurricular reading through questionnaires,interviews and literature review.It is concluded from this survey that there are mainly the following problems in the extracurricular reading of students in jiushui primary school: no strong interest in reading,reading motivation is just to "acquire knowledge",lack of reading resources,reading surface is not wide,reading quality is poor,guardians and teachers of reading support and guidance for students is not enough.According to the above problems,the author puts forward improvement measures from four aspects.In terms of society,it is suggested that the government should build libraries in villages and towns and encourage the society to donate books.In terms of school,college students go back to their hometown to guide extracurricular reading and make good use of the school library;At home,parents provide good reading conditions;In terms of teachers,they should attach importance to the extracurricular reading of left-behind children,cultivate good extracurricular reading habits of left-behind children,provide and recommend extracurricular reading books,stimulate children’s interest in reading,and care about the physical and mental health of left-behind children.The thesis consists of five parts.The first part is the introduction,which explains the background and significance of the topic,the research status at home and abroad,the dynamic analysis of the development,and the research design.The second is the investigation on the extracurricular reading status of the students in jiushui primary school.Taking the left-behind children in jiushui primary school as an example,the investigation is carried out on the interest,motivation,time,content,support and guidance of the left-behind children in extracurricular reading to understand the current situation of the extracurricular reading of the students in jiushui primary school.Thirdly,this paper analyzes the causes of the problems in extracurricular reading of left-behind children in jiushui primary school from four aspects: society,school,family and teachers.Fourth,putforward improvement measures according to the existing problems.The fifth is the conclusion,summarize the core point of view of this paper,explain the deficiencies.
