With the development of economy and urbanization,some rural young and middle-aged people choose to go out to work in order to improve their family living standard,and their children become left-behind children.Left-behind children are an attractive group,they not only have management and emotional problems,but also their spiritual life is relatively poor.Extracurricular Reading is an important way to enrich the spiritual world of left-behind children,it is also an important way for students to acquire knowledge and lifelong learning.There are many mountainous areas in the west of Zhejiang Province,where the traffic is inconvenient.There are many young and middle-aged people who go out to work to give their children to their grandparents,and the proportion of left-behind children in schools is large,especially the low-level left-behind children need guidance in their study and life,extracurricular reading is a very effective guide,therefore,the author hopes to truly understand the current situation of extracurricular reading of low left-behind children in rural primary schools in western Zhejiang by combining his own work experience with questionnaires and interviews,and to explore effective countermeasures to promote the extracurricular reading of low left-behind children.Enrich the spiritual world of left-behind children.This paper analyzes the present situation of left-behind children's extracurricular reading in rural primary schools in western Zhejiang in the following three parts and puts forward some countermeasures:In the introduction,the background and significance of the topic are discussed,the concept of "in western Zhejiang" "left-behind children" and "extracurricular reading" is defined,also analyzes the current research situation at home and abroad,and clarifies the object and method of the research.The main part of the text first through the questionnaire survey and interviews of the rural primary school in western Zhejiang low-level left-behind children reading content and reading,extracurricular reading place and resources,extracurricular reading time and frequency,extracurricular reading reasons and interests of these four aspects of the current situation.The second part of the text investigates and interviews the situation of teachers' guidance on extracurricular reading of left-behind children in Primary Schools,including the basic situation of teachers,the attitude towards extracurricular reading and guidance to students' extracurricular reading.The third part of the text is based on the investigation of the situation of left-behind children's extracurricular reading in rural areas of western Zhejiang to find the problem: the content of extracurricular reading is single and the amount of reading is insufficient;lack of extracurricular reading environment and insufficient extracurricular reading resources;not enough reading time and no guarantee;students are not motivated to read after class;teachers' extracurricular reading instruction is not effective.And find out the causes of the problem: the lack of literacy among the students affected their reading;lack of understanding of the importance of extracurricular reading;enjoying fun activities.teacher lack of time,affected by entry stage;teachers do not guide children's extracurricular reading properly;lack guidance to children in reading methods;need to improve their personal reading situation.the development of reading activities in the school is a mere formality,ignoring the main body of students;improper implementation of time management;block of book resources,poor utilization;campus reading atmosphere is not strong.the family aspect books resources are few and the parents are unable to direct.The fourth part of the text from the teachers,schools,families,the government four aspects of the rural primary schools in western Zhejiang low-level left-behind children's extracurricular reading problems put forward suggestions and countermeasures.The first is to give full play to the initiative of teachers,including stimulate left-behind children's interest in reading after class;changing teachers' attitudes and correctly evaluating reading.The second is to attach importance to the school construction of the book atmosphere,including the use of resources to build a scholarly campus;reasonable planning time to ensure reading time;teachers' reading and the establishment of a system to ensure the implementation of reading.Third,create a family reading environment,including the purchase of extracurricular books to safeguard children's reading resources;set up family mutual help group and gather family strength.Fourth,the government's various measures to help including departmental coordination,policy tilt towards left-behind children;regional cooperation,urban and rural support.Finally,the conclusion and prospect are summarized and the future prospects are put forward.
