For a long time,due to the impacts of one-child policy and the unified employment under the planned economy system,the conflict between the birth and career development of female workers in our country is not obvious.With the opening of the birth policy and the implementation of the two-child policy,the original birth mode of female has changed in our country.The sudden increase in the labor cost of enterprises has once again made the issue of gender discrimination in employment.At the same time,the conflicts between women and society,work and family have gradually become obvious.The implementation of the new birth policy will have a deep impact on the career development of women.Therefore,focusing on the proposition that childbearing condition affects women’s career development,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to analyze the key factors that affect women’s career development under the background of the universal two-child policy.The study proposes the connotation of career development including three dimensions of career acquisition difficulty,career development opportunity and career development level,and this thesis pays attention to the impacts of female employees’ childbearing condition on these three aspects.It also discusses the positive and negative effects of family support,organizational support,social support and other factors on female career development.Based on the survey data of 394 female employees in Beijing,via the establishment of ols and logistic regression models,the study found that: under the background of the universal two-child policy,women’s childbearing condition has a significant impact on their career development,’Having one child" women’s career acquisition difficulty is significantly higher than "not having" women;The level of career development of "Having two children or more"women is significantly lower than that of "Having no child" and "Having one child".The childbearing condition has a significant negative impact on women’s career development opportunities,and the increase in the number of children will definitely hinder women’s career development.Family care support can relieve the negative impact of the childbearing on career development.Based on the findings of empirical research,the research points out that ensuring and promoting women’s career development is not only related to the overall implementation effect of the universal two-child policy,but also the women’s internal needs and rights as workers.First,based on the problems existed in women’s current career development,and then combined with the population structure of social development situation.A perfect system integrating guarantee,restriction and encouragement should be established.At the same time,it is necessary to reduce the lack of career opportunities caused by childbirth to the greatest extent,to provide a better working environment,and to improve women’s working enthusiasm and career motivation,and promote the compatibility of childbearing and career development through the joint responsibility and cooperation of society,organization,family,individuals and other responsible subjects.
