By an acceleration of the aging process,it is more and more common for the old people to be disabled due to lack of abilities of illness and accidents. The problem of long-term care for the disabled elderly is a "hard bone" in the old-age service industry,it appears extremely severe in rural areas. In rural areas,it is deeply influenced by our country’s traditional "filial piety" thinking and cultural values, most of the old people choose family-based cares for the elderly and the care of disabled elderly, family care has not disappeared but has become the main choice for the care of disabled elderly. However, with the acceleration of economic development, the core members within the family are keeping away and the number of elderly disabled people in rural areas have increased, family care is facing the practical dilemma in short supply problems. Moreover, family caregivers bear greater financial burdens and highlight weakened care capabilities, and it can affect the quality of looking after for the disabled old seriously in the rural areas.Based on the research perspective of family cares, this article selects the disabled elderly and their family caregivers in a rural area of Guizhou Province as a research object,by the means of previous literature searching work, the background, theoretical basis and literature review of this article were built,in the later period,I will describe the current situation of family care for the disabled elderly in the area and the difficulties encountered in the care process by visiting the family caregivers and according to the lack of family care, the relevant coping strategies are proposed. The survey found that when families provide care services, they cannot fully match the needs of the disabled elderly and the rural family care faces multiple difficulties too,its root lies in mainly: First of all,at the family level, due to the adjustment of rural family structure, the constraints of family economic conditions, and the lack of effective institutional guarantees for family caregivers, there are insufficient family caregivers, single family care content, and the difficulty of existing family caregivers to effectively satisfy the severity, the need for care of the elderly and the economically disabled elderly with disabilities. The second, from the external support force of the family, the government ’s insufficient investment in the care of rural disabled elderly from system design to economic support,as a result, the care resources in the region cannot really play their due role, and the disabled elderly cannot enjoy high-quality and high-level care services. In the end, according to the research results, this article suggests that the need for longterm care of rural disabled elderly can be improved through legalization,at the same time, building a comprehensive family care support policy, giving family caregivers financial support, employment support and other service support to reduce the pressure of family care.Continue to promote the traditional "filial piety" culture in rural areas, encourage other family members to live with or choose neighbors to live together, participate in the care process for the disabled elderly, and strengthen the awareness of family care. The government departments play a role in supporting human and financial resources and with the power of social organizations, the family’s care function can be enhanced,so that the disabled elderly can enjoy a comprehensive and high-level care content at home. |
