A Report On The E-C Translation Of Architects Of Intelligence（Chapter20）

As an important part of the field of science and technology,artificial intelligence has an unstoppable influence on the future development of the world.Under this background,translation of EST has become more and more important and has become a new professional field in modern English.This article is an excerpt from the twentieth chapter of futurist Martin Ford’s Architects of Intelligence-The truth about AI from the people building it.Through the analysis of the translated text and translation results,the translator found that the difficulties of this translation practice mainly come from the translation of vocabulary,nominal clauses and the text.Therefore,in the case analysis,the translator,under the guidance of Skopos theory of Hans Vermeer,adopts many corresponding translation methods to solve the difficulties encountered in translation.For the lexical translation,the methods of conversion and semantic extension are adopted;For the translation of nominal clauses,the following methods are adopted: linear translation and restructuring.For textual translation,this translation task mainly solves the problem of text cohesion.Through the analysis and summary of this report,the translator hopes to provide some reference value for the research and translation of the same type of text.
