A Report On The Translation Of The Executive Guide To Artificial Intelligence(Excerpts)

As China’s economy enters a new era of scientific and technological development,the digital economy,represented by artificial intelligence,is developing rapidly.This report is based on the translating practice of the third chapter of the book The Executive Guide to Artificial Intelligence.The third chapter mainly involves the framework of artificial intelligence and its eight functions.The translator aims to introduce advanced artificial intelligence to Chinese readers and to provide reference for relevant translation.This text is a typical text of science and technology,most of which are characterized by rich vocabulary,clear logic and tight structure.Guided by Skopos theory,the translator analyzes the characteristics of EST and adopts proper translation skills.the translator applied such translation skills as amplification,omission,adding footnotes and restructuring to ensure the readability,the fidelity and coherence.In the case analysis part,the translator analyzes the application of Skopos theory in EST translation from the perspective of lexical,syntactic and textual level respectively.This translation practice report aims to elaborate the translation process,analyze the nature of translation problems to improve the ability of combining theory with practice and level of EST translation.
