| This paper is in three parts, namely the source text, the target text, and the translation report based on this practice. The source text is taken from Super Courses: The Future of Teaching and Learning by Ken Bain. The author constructs a new model of curriculum namely the super course, and presents several case studies of super courses. In chapters 3-5,the author describes the characteristics of the new university, the super course “books behind bars,” and the key points of diverse classes, which are the key chapters of the book.Since the concept of “super course” has some inspiration for contemporary education, the translator chooses these three chapters for Chinese translation.Through the analysis of the source text, the translator finds that there are translation difficulties in three dimensions: language, culture and communication. And the “three-dimensional transformations” in the theory of eco-translatology is effective to solve these difficulties,so it is chosen as the guiding theory for this translation practice. The translation report briefly introduces the translation project, the basic research before translation, and focuses the translation process through case studies, which mainly describes how the translator, under the guidance of eco-translatology theory, makes an adaptive selection and transformation based on the analysis of the source text, adopts different translation strategies in response to the translation difficulties in the three dimensions, and thus obtains a readable translation. Then, the procedures after translating is introduced. Finally, the whole translation practice is summarized. |
