English reading plays critical role in middle school English teaching.Reading helps students to maintain their interests in learning,enrich their knowledge and improve abilities.It is a kind of driving forces to help students to promote mental development.For junior high school students,English reading ability is a higher ability level requirement in the process of English learning.English reading ability includes the ability to master and use vocabulary,grammar,cultural knowledge and reading skills.English reading teaching is an important part of the entire junior high school English teaching.It directly affects the formation and development of the core language literacy of junior high school students.Effective reading teaching activities can improve students’ of listening,speaking,reading,writing,and reading ability.However,with the continuous advancement of information,traditional reading teaching can no longer meet the needs of students for English reading.How to effectively combine the ever-changing technical means with the increasingly mature teaching ideas is an urgent problem for educators.The modernization of education has built a platform that organically integrates traditional offline teaching and Internet online teaching,and a hybrid teaching model has emerged as the times require.As a new teaching model that can combine online and offline teaching resources,mixed teaching has set off a wave of upsurge in China in recent years,and is deeply loved by teachers and students.Therefore,this study selects teaching videos as online teaching resources,and some Public Platform as an online teaching tool.The middle school English reading teaching model is designed for students before,during and after class to carry out a semester.This thesis is based on constructivism,Badrul Huda Khan’s theory of eight dimensions of e-learning,and cooperative learning theory study.Through questionnaire surveys and interviews,it collects real data from the front line of teaching to understand the current status of English reading teaching in Junior High School,analyzes the current problems in junior high school English reading teaching.According to the principles of blended teaching,a blended learning model,teaching process and teaching cases suitable for junior high school English reading teaching are designed and conduct a test of teaching practice.Taking two classes of students in a middle school in Xiangtan as the research object,the eighth grade class 147 is the experimental class,adopting a blended teaching mode,and class 148 is the control class adopting the traditional teaching mode.After a semester of teaching,the experimental class and the control class scores were compared and analyzed,and the collected data were analyzed.The research results show that the application of blended teaching mode can improve students’ learning enthusiasm and improve students’ autonomous and cooperative learning abilities,help students master reading strategies and methods,and lay a foundation for their lifelong learning.It is deduced that blended learning mode is an effective way to improve the efficiency and quality of English reading teaching in junior high schools.At the same time,according to the difficulties and problems encountered in the process of practice,it can provide some suggestions and references for the research and development of blended teaching.It also hopes this study could provide a reference for further English reading teaching in middle schools.
