Jing Ji Zhuan Gu is an exegetical dictionary compiled by Ruan Yuan,which specializes in annotating the meanings of various ancient books before the Tang Dynasty.The whole book has 106 volumes.The rigorous and comprehensive style of the dictionary layout of Jing Ji Zhuan Gu is regarded by later generations as the collection of exegesis in the ancient books of our country,and it is another classic after Jing Dian Shi Wen.As the first large-scale compilation of exegetical materials in the history of dictionaries,Jing Ji Zhuan Gu does not completely follow the compilation system of the previous dictionaries,but absorbs the compilation advantages of the previous dictionaries,and integrates Ruan Yuan’s consideration on the dictionaries.And created a unique compilation theory,provided a new development direction for dictionary compilation,and had great significance to the scientific development of later dictionaries.Titled with of “Research on the Compilation of Jing Ji Zhuan Gu”,this paper focuses on extracting the compiling thoughts upon Jing Ji Zhuan Gu for better showing the compilation style and methodology derived under the guidance of such idea.Actually,this dictionary has rich compilation ideas and connotations and and self-contained,which determines its overall compilation direction.By taking the compilation idea of “Quiting by a group of Scriptures,clearing the Scriptures and the way”as the main theme,which passes through the material-selection view,compilation style and compilation methodology of Jing Ji Zhuan Gu.First of all,in terms of compilation and material-selection view,this dictionary compiles and selects materials according to the principle of “Collecting Exegetical Material of Previous,Focusing on the Source;Quoting group Books,Focusing on Detail”.Secondly,as for its compilation style,the radicals in Jing Ji Zhuan Gu are arranged according to the idea of “Four Tones are Meridians and Rhymes are Latitudes”.And the radical characters were listed in accordance with the idea of “Purporting with Pei Wen Yun Fu and Ordering with Ping Shui Yun”.In addition,a variety of quotations under the same prefix are collected following the idea of“Combination the Collection of Books,Ordered by the Classics and History”.Finally,this dictionary also adheres to the idea of “Inclusive,Seeking Truth from Facts” in its compilation methodology,as well as adheres to made interpretations for these Chinese characters complying with the idea of “Gathering Thoughts of all Families,Strive to be Exhaustive”.Actually,Classical dictionaries such as Mao Shi Gu Xun Zhuan and Jing Dian Shi Wen have great significance on the compilation of Jing Ji Zhuan Gu.And Jing Ji Zhuan Gu also has some reflections of Mao Shi Gu Xun Zhuan and Jing Dian Shi Wen in the view of compilation material-selecting,compilation style view,and compilation methodology.In terms of the content of the collection,Jing Ji Zhuan Gu supplements the content of Mao Shi Gu Xun Zhuan and Jing Dian Shi Wen,which is more detailed.In its writing style,Jing Ji Zhuan Gu continues the multiple stylistic rules,such as arrangement,citation,meaning and other styles.Comparing with Mao Shi Gu Xun Zhuan and Jing Dian Shi Wen,this dictionary can be said more refined,mature and standardized as a whole.
