| Learning in high school is an important stage for students to improve their English literacy,among which the cultivation and improvement of English reading literacy is an extremely important part.Therefore,the research on English reading teaching in senior high school has practical significance.In the current English teaching of senior high school,it is found that the efficiency of reading teaching is not high and students’ interest in English reading is not strong.What’s worse,some students are afraid of difficulties in English reading learning.In view of the current situation of English reading teaching and learning,this thesis intends to take an action research to explore the impact of the practice of English reading projects on students’ English reading attitude and ability in senior high school.According to the operation mode of action research and the requirements of English reading project design,under the guidance of Constructivism,Pragmatism and Discovery Learning Theory,this thesis plans to solve two key questions:1.What are the positive changes in students’ reading attitude caused by the practice of English reading project in senior high school ?2.What reading abilities of students have been improved by the practice of English reading project in senior high school ?Taking students who come from class 4,senior 2 of Jinsha High School in Jinsha County,Guizhou Province as the research participants,this thesis has designed and implemented English reading projects of four units of the fifth textbook of PEP.Four rounds of action research have been conducted based on the action research mode of “plan-action-observation-reflection”.Finally the data have been compared and analyzed.After analysis,this thesis has draw the following conclusions.Firstly,students’ interest in English reading has been strengthened in the learning of reading projects,and their attitude towards English reading has been improved.Secondly,the practice of English reading project has improved the students’ English reading ability in senior high school to some extent.This shows that the teaching of English reading can be carried out in combination with reading projects and the concept of the New English Curriculum Standard to give full play to students’ subjective initiative in English reading learning in senior high school. |
