In recent years,the number of French students studying Chinese is continuously rising,so it is necessary to launch research on Chinese teaching for French students.French students observe a certain difference between their mother tongue phonetic system and that of Chinese.They consider Chinese phonetics as one of the biggest difficulties in studying Chinese,especially learning basic sounds during the earliest steps The purpose of this research is to identify the different common mistakes of French beginners in Chinese phonetics,seek and analyze the underlying reasons,in order to claim for drawing up corresponding teaching tactics and prevent as much as possible French students from making similar mistakes in the future.After the stage of predictive thinking,we tested some French students by survey,asking them to read a text in Chinese,and,at the same time,noticed students’ biased errors in basic elements of phonetics,including initial consonants,syllables finals and tones mistakes.This research concluded: In the first place,French students’ biased errors on initial consonants include dorsal,velar,dental and blade-palatal sounds;affricate and aspiration consonants are also the most significative difficulties in initial consonants for students.Secondly,syllables finals biased errors are essentially composed by unrounded vowels mistakes.Lastly,rising tone and falling-rising tone are the Chinese tones which involve most of the difficulties for French students.Initial consonants,syllables finals and tones biased errors are caused by a lot of reasons,but this thesis gives a detailed description of the phenomenon of mother tongue transfer and persistent mistakes in teaching Chinese in French schools.Therefore,this thesis recommends French Chinese teachers to emphasize the teaching of sounds which constitute biased errors,to lead students towards more practice,and,if necessary,to proceed to active correction of phonetics mistakes.With the results and teaching tactics developed in this research,we hope that it will help to improve the Chinese oral expression level of French students and to reduce the number of mistakes in phonetics aspect,as well as having more good effects in Chinese phonetics teaching. |
