The Chinese character "了(le)" is one of the most difficult things for Korean students to learn. To solve this problem, many scholars and students have written the relevant papers, and there have been some remarkable triumphs, to some degree, but many students still have difficulties to learn Chinese character "了(le)", and even the students who reached intermediate or advanced levels cite the same difficulties. This report is written to suggest effective solutions to this problem by carrying out a survey to Korean students. This report approaches the issue from a different perspective than other students do through compiling statistics on the frequent biased errors in the character "了(le)", and tries to find the causes of the errors, such as the language interference phenomenon, poor teaching environment, students’lack of proficiency and the complex nature of Chinese character "了(le)", to solve the problems. In addition, this report conducted a statistical analysis with the two groups of students:1) the19students with the fewest biased errors and2)15students who studied Chinese during the critical period. On the grounds of the analysis, this report tries to find the cause that these students made fewer biased errors than other students and tries to apply the findings to the problems. The body of this report is especially proving that studying the grammar is very important to the students who learned Chinese after "critical period", as well as the "age effect" of the "critical period hypothesis" is making the direct influence on the learning of Chinese character "了(le)".
