| Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language is not only language teaching but also cultural teaching.Chinese paper-cutting is an ancient folk art in China,which contains rich Chinese folk culture and is an important component of Chinese traditional culture,with cultural connotation and appreciation value.It can not only be used as a Chinese culture craft for international students to learn,but also as a teaching content of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language.At present,limited research has been conducted on the teaching design of Chinese cultural course for international students,and the research on Chinese paper-cutting focuses mainly on the application.Therefore,this paper studies the teaching of Chinese paper-cutting as a foreign language teaching subject and provides a specific teaching design.Based on the research of teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language,cultural teaching,Chinese paper-cutting culture and teaching design,meanwhile,based on the cultural background of Chinese paper-cutting and the theory of teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language,this paper tends to find the matching point of Chinese paper-cutting and teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and cultural teaching.By means of a questionnaire survey(N=66)and interviews(N=4)with the international students from Shaoxing University,this paper reports an empirical study to determine the feasibility of carrying out the cultural course with the theme of Chinese paper-cutting in Shaoxing University.On top of that,the researcher established the teaching objectives,principles and methods of the cultural course with the theme of Chinese paper-cutting,and carried out a specific teaching design.The color-filling paper-cutting and lining-color paper-cutting are introduced into the teaching,and the Chinese character writing and the teaching of Chinese paper-cutting are combined.Three classes are designed as follows: a brief introduction of Chinese paper-cutting culture;a themed cultural course about Chinese Spring Festival and symmetrical Chinese characters as the main content;still another is the theme culture course on zodiac.After the teaching practice,international students were asked to evaluate the teaching effect of Chinese paper-cutting theme culture course through a new questionnaire survey(N=14)and interviews(N=5).The researcher also reflected on the whole teaching process and the teaching effect,and summarized the strong and weak points,which are expected to provide some reference for the teaching of Chinese paper-cutting in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language. |
