| Consecutive interpretation is widely used in foreign-related work,which requires interpreters not only to have solid interpreting ability,but also to have strong professional competence and physical and psychological qualities.At the same time,the ideological and political quality of interpreters is also very important as consecutive interpreting mainly serves the important foreign affairs activities of state organs and related enterprises and institutions.However,in the actual interpreting teaching,the conventional teaching method used by most teachers is mainly to require students to the “recording + practice” training in front of computer screen because of insufficient opportunities for real interpreting practice.Which fails to live up to the authenticity of interpreting teaching,resulting in the talents cannot effectively meet the requirements of the market after graduation.The consecutive interpreting teaching team of Nanchang University,led by Professor Lai Yihua,adopted practical teaching with mock scenarios method in his consecutive interpreting course to explore ways to improve the authenticity of interpreting teaching,and to conduct ideological and political education while training the professional ability of interpretation so as to improve students’ ideological and political literacy(IPL).In this learning model,the teacher designed several topics according to the current politics and basic scenes that may be encountered in the real work,and then asked the students to simulate the elements of the speech according to the real work scenarios and write speeches.In class,he organized mock scenario speaking and corresponding interpreting,and conducted multiple comments in the form of seminar subsequently.This paper discusses the learning model of consecutive interpreting course ideological and political instruction(CIPI)based on mock scenarios,taking the consecutive interpreting teaching of MTI Grade 2018 and 2019 in Nanchang University as the research object.Through the analysis of the scales,it is found that this learning model can not only break through the bottleneck of training language ability in the conventional teaching model,so as to improve the students’ interpreter competence,but also effectively integrate ideological and political education into the course to guide students to pay attention to current political affairs.Through the relevant matrix analysis of the scales,the author further obtains two findings:(1)In terms of the improvement of interpreting ability,there is a high positive correlation between multitasking ability and the ability to stratify chunks and information,and between encyclopedic knowledge and professional subject knowledge.(2)In terms of the cultivation of IPL,there is a high positive correlation between the understanding of local culture and the understanding of Chinese traditional culture;the understanding of the cross-cultural communication of the text and the analysis of the situation at home and abroad from an international perspective are highly positively correlated;the value identity of “Four Confidence” is highly positively related to the value identity of “Four Consciousnesses”.Further discussion and analysis demonstrate that the learning model studied in this thesis meets the requirements of interpreters in the new era.The study of this thesis provides specific learning model experience for future learners,educators and researchers,and provides a practical reference for the reform of English education in the new era. |
