Since the beginning of the new century,with the rapid development of Internet technology,the gradual improvement of media creation means,and the increasing diversity of audiences’ interests,the documentary which is known as the "mirror of the times" and "national photo album",has been moving towards a new stage of networking,digitization,and intelligence since it has appeared the trend of column,marketization,and industrialization.China’s major new media websites such as Sohu Video,Youku,Tencent and iqiyi have successively laid out the documentary field,making documentary an important carrier to balance market interests,social values and cultural character.Documentaries seem to have found a new home for carrying image content,cultural writing,and documentary brilliance.All kinds of network documentaries are springing up,and creating a dazzling landscape of stars.High quality self-made documentaries such as "Those Things in History","The Story of Chuaner","Animal Hospital","And Yet The Books","Little Juvenile" and "Strange Food" have been broadcast in Bilibili,making the platform of quadratic element gradually come into the vision of documentary’s creators and audiences.The youth subculture of Bilibili,which is characterized by collage,parody,spoof and gamification,reconstructs and deconstructs some features of traditional documentaries which are incompatible with internet,such as awaying from life,theme first and grand narrative,creating brand-new self-made documentaries that are popular and sought after by young people of "Generation Z" with the characteristics of youth,lightweight and entertainment.Taking "Post-Subculture" as the theoretical support and research starting point,this paper uses the research methods such as historical carding and literature analysis to systematically sort out and clarify the narrative techniques,aesthetic characteristics,survival mechanism and development trend of the self-made documentaries of Bilibili,aiming to interpret the diversified aesthetic and values of the post-subcultural young people as "Generation Z" from a new perspective.This article is divided into five chapters.The first chapter expounds the ecological landscape of Bilibili from the perspective of post-subculture,including the explicit features and internal trends of "Text Poaching" and “Doujin Image” after collage,the Danmu of personalized decoding,and the symbol consumption in "neo-tribes" which are based on the same interest.The second chapter focuses on the main text narrative of the self-made documentaries of Bilibili,such as "People-Oriented" healing emotional comfort and sharing,the construction of collective memory in the image portrayal of pan-bottom small people,performing the story of "Front Stage" and "Back Stage" in the alternation of the real and the virtual,and the postmodern expression of "de-center" represented by ridicule and demotion.The third chapter expounds the common aesthetic characteristics of Bilibili’s self-made documentaries,including youth core,lightweight shell and experimental exploration.The fourth chapter analyzes the survival mechanism of Bilibili’s self-made documentaries from the perspective of post-subculture,including personality expression in the coexistence of multiple values,reconstruction of power system in the production of “Participatory Culture”,and consolidation of exclusive fans in the construction of “Interaction Ritual Chains”.The last chapter summarizes the prospect and breakthrough of the self-made documentaries of Bilibili in the future,and puts forward several paths,such as creating "Industrial Documentary" in the IP brand matrix,exploring the innovative expression of short videos with the help of intelligent technologies,and deeply cultivating the vertical field in the joint production of cross domain cooperation.
