With the increase of network coverage and the popularization of mobile learning tools,Chinese learning APPs have become an important helper for overseas students to learn Chinese.However,because of the large number and different quality of these Chinese learning APPs,it is possible for international students to have difficulties in choice and use.This paper looks into the basic circumstance of College Students’ choice and use of Chinese learning APPs and the attitude of College International Chinese teachers towards these Chinese learning APPs through electronic questionnaire.Many foreign students use the Chinese learning APPs as an auxiliary tool for learning Chinese after class,but they will encounter difficulties in choosing the Chinese APPs suitable for their learning level.They have some opinions on the operation guide,learning content,auxiliary functions and operating fees of the Chinese learning APPs.Some Chinese teachers will recommend Chinese learning APPs to foreign students,but some Chinese international teachers don’t know enough about this kind of app and can’t provide effective suggestions to foreign students.Most Chinese teachers do not use Chinese learning APPs in class.Based on the feedback of the questionnaire,this paper investigates the current situation of Chinese learning APPs for non-native Chinese learners in the smartphone software market,tracks and analyzes the relevant data of ten Chinese learning APPs such as learn Chinese –Chinese skill,and summarizes their characteristics.Most of the popular apps in the market are well designed in terms of interface,key points,modules,search methods,languages and contents.However,these Chinese learning APPs also have common problems that affect the software selection and learning effect of foreign students,such as not indicating the applicable object of the software on the home page,unreal pronunciation,out of context sentences,poor interactive experience,etc.Based on the investigation of foreign students and the analysis of the software,this paper puts forward some suggestions for the developers and users of Chinese learning APPs.In order to solve the difficulty of choosing Chinese learning software for foreign students,software developers can set up a home page to introduce the software,which is aimed at people or learning level.Foreign students can listen to the suggestions of students who have used similar software,and communicate with Chinese teachers.Teachers can choose APPs that meet their needs according to their own situation.Chinese teachers can learn more about the use of Chinese APPs and select suitable learning software for students.In order to solve the difficulties of using the software for international students,developers can improve the software from the aspects of interface,language,content and function,and develop a higher quality Chinese learning APPs.
