A Report On The E-C Translation Of Cultivating Copyright:How Creators And Creative Industries Can Harness Intellectual Property To Survive The Digital Age(Excerpts)

Creative industries are new industries that derive from individual ideas,skills and talents and create wealth and employment through the development and application of intellectual property protection.In the digital age,intellectual property protection of creative industries is particularly important.At present,there are few academic texts on intellectual property protection of creative industries in China,and the research on this kind of text is not enough,Therefore,it is imperative to strengthen the research on such texts,transfer more knowledge related to intellectual property protection of creative industries,and promote the translation research of academic texts with information-oriented functions.The author chooses Chapter seven and eight of a informative text with strong directivity,that is,Cultivating Copyright,written by a legal scholar,as the research object of this translation practice study report.And the methods of literature review and case study are used to study the translation skills and process of informative texts.Guided by the Skopos Theory proposed by Hans Vermeer,the translation process was studied from the levels of lexicon,syntax and discourse.The author sums up the skills and methods suitable for the translation of informative texts,in order to provide some method guidance and suggestions for the translation of informative texts.The author draws the conclusion that Skopos Theory of Translation is suitable for guiding the translation of economic academic texts with strong objectivity,giving the priority to conveying the objective information of texts.Translator should use literal translation,transliteration methods and word formation to translate vocabulary and to ensure fidelity.Translator should use addition,conversion,recombination and substitution methods to translate long and difficult sentences and to ensure the coherence of text.The author hopes the translation practice report will not only provide some reference for the translation of such texts,but also let people fully understand the creative industry and the intellectual property protection knowledge related to it,so as to promote the vigorous development of the creative industry.
