| The report is based on an English-Chinese translation project,entrusted by a food company.The translation of the source text Systems-Level Analysis of Phosphorus Flows in the Dairy Supply Chain helps the client realize the research on the dairy industry in foreign countries,and provides a reference for the research on new dairy products.The phosphorus flow is very important in the production and daily life.In the source text,the original authors proposed a systems-level analysis framework to track and analyze the phosphorus flows in dairy sector and interdependent sectors.The translator made a lot of preparations to solve the problems encountered in the translation process.The technical text is professional and has many long sentences.The translator fully understood the background of the translation project and used the computer aided translation platform Yi CAT to make the project more efficient and convenient.According to the characteristics of the source text,some translation strategies and skills are used to analyze the cases under the guidance of the three principles of skopos theory,such as omission,free translation and division.They made the translation faithful and readable.The translator also made a reflection on the translation in this report.The translator improved the ability and summarized the experience and deficiency in this process.And it is hoped to provide some reference for the future research and practice of the technical text in chemistry. |
