| Under the boosting of the global perception on healthy life,more and more people emphasize healthy living,and food safety becomes a focused issue.Meanwhile,the safety of the structuring fat foods has been a popular topic in the food industry.Food Industry is a symposium in English contributed by global experts specialized in the food science,which plays an important role in the food industry.Chapter 4 of this symposium,which mainly introduces the properties of structuring fat foods,is selected as the source text for this English-Chinese translation project.In the stages of completing this translation project,according to the technical style of the source text,the skopos theory is taken as the guideline to solve the translational problems by some translation approaches including division,conversion,amplification and so on.Thus,the target text could faithfully convey its original information and fulfill reading habits of intended target recipients,achieving the intertextual coherence and intratextual coherence.Based on this,this report documents the background and significance of this translation project and divides the translating process into three stages with different focuses.In addition,combined with the skopos theory,some typical cases are present to be fully analyzed at the levels of the lexis,syntax and rhetorics.Through this translation project,the translator has realized that,in order to produce a splendid target text,translators should be bound to acquire the rich theoretical knowledge,solid translation ability and the ability to utilize modern translation technology.It is hoped that this translation report could furnish credible references to those who are obsessed in food industry and translation. |
