| With the popularity of the resource-friendly development mode,the development of the electric vehicle industry is thriving and flourishing.As an emerging industry,electric vehicle industry standards are mainly adapted from International Standard IATF16949 and the German automobile quality system VDA6.Therefore,the translation of industry standards is of great importance for the development of the electric vehicle industry.The format BMW-GS98000 aims to improve user’s experience,instruct internal employees,and make technicians better understand customer’s needs to meet the control standards.Taking the automobile battery customer standard as the research corpus,this practice report analyzes the typical problems found in the translation of technical texts.The report mainly illustrates typical translation problems at lexical,syntactical,and textual levels,and tries to put forward feasible translation solutions of technical texts with Skopos Theory as the guidance.After analyzing the typical problems existing in translation practice,the author classifies them into three levels: lexical,syntactic,and textual.Lexical level refers to inaccuracy of terminology and complexity of nominalization;Syntactic level relates to misunderstanding of long and complex sentences,imperative sentences,and passive sentences.And Textual level includes the complexity of lexical cohesion and grammatical cohesion.Under the guidance of Skopos Theory,this practice report focuses on solving typical problems through the analysis of translation examples.From the perspective theory and under the guidance of the three principles of Skopos Theory(skopos,fidelity,and coherence),the author puts forward the following solutions.(1)At the lexical level: adopting the translation methods as zero translation;(2)At the syntactical level: using division and reconstruction;conversion of voice;(3)At the textual level: applying reduction of pronoun;adoption of reiteration and conjunction.During the translation process,the author tries to convey the information of the source text in order to meet the requirement of the target readers,and choose the appropriate translation methods to solve typical translation problems encountered.It is hoped that this report can be used as a preliminary study to provide some references for the translation research in related fields and propose translation methods for the reference of technical texts of this kind. |
