The choice of compound sentences “yu qi p bu ru q” has a high frequency of use in both spoken and written language.However,compared with single sentences in Chinese,the logical and semantic relationship between the parts of the compound sentence is more difficult for international students to understand,and the structure is also more complicated.International students often make mistakes when using this type of sentence structure.Therefore,although it is difficult,it also needs to be mastered by international students.This thesis analyzes the sentence pattern of "yu qi p bu ru q" in the CCL corpus of Peking University,and uses the theory of "three planes" which means grammar,semantics,and pragmatics to summarize the structure of "yu qi p bu ru q".From the view of grammatical,first of all,the subject of the two parts connected by "yu qi" and "bu ru" can be the same and they can also be different,and the position of the subject is more flexible.It can be placed in front of the related word or placed back of the related word;secondly,the components of “p” and “q” in this sentence structure can be served by individual words and phrases,or by sentences;finally,this sentence structure can be made into a sentence alone,and it also can be made into a larger sentence structure to be a syntactic component or the clause in a complex sentence.From the view of semantic,only two contrasting options can enter this sentence structure at the same time,which meanes “p” and “ q” must have a common domain,and the relationship between these two domains of “p” and “q” can be contradictory relationship,opposite meanings relationship and opposition relationship.From the view of pragmatics,"yu qi p bu ru q" can be used to indicate choice,advice or suggestion,and it can also be used to indicate euphemistic rejection.Next,through the analysis of the corpus of the sentence pattern "yu qi p bu ru q" collected from the HSK dynamic composition corpus,the global interlanguage corpus,the Jinan University Interlanguage corpus and the questionnaire.We will try to understand the errors that foreign students are likely to make in the process of acquiring this sentence pattern.According to Mr.Lu Jianji’s opinion,we divide the errors that foreign students make in the process of learning and using the sentence pattern into incorrect additions,omissions,incorrect order and incorrect generation,and then analyze the reasones of the errors caused by foreign students.Based on this,try to give some corresponding teaching suggestions.The sentence structure "yu qi p bu ru q" is used as a level Bing grammar item in the "Chinese Proficiency Standards and Grammar Level Syllabus",which is difficult for international students to learn.Therefore,we should promote learners to learn and master this sentence structure from many aspects such as teachers,learners and textbooks.
