The Multi-angled Investigation On The Subjective Construction "X Jiu Hao Le"

“ X Jiu Hao Le” is a structure format which is frequently used in daily communication and literary works.With this structure,speakers can express their feelings,attitudes and opinions.Based on construction grammar theory,grammticalization theory and the subjectivity of language,this thesis takes “ X Jiu Hao Le” as its object of study,combining the way of synchronic and diachronic,description and interpretation,comparative analysis and applied,making a multi-angled investigation on this construction.Firstly,based on construction grammar,“X Jiu Hao Le” can be defined as a construction,which takes speaker’s subjective identity on variables X as its core meaning.Besides,according to the truth-value of variables X and the hidden logical associations between the variables and the constants,“ X Jiu Hao Le” can be divided into casual associations and navigable associations.Navigable associations can be further divided into comparative possible hypothesis and counterfactual hypothesis.Different types of construction has different meanings,which tightly joined around the core meaning.Secondly,the components of different types of “X Jiu Hao Le”have slight distinctions between syntactic properties and semantic features.As for the variables,action verb structure,state verb structure can be allowed into the casual associations.Action verb structure,state verb structure,adjective structure and nominal structure can be allowed into imperative hypothesis.Action verb structure,state verb structure,relative verb structure and adjective structure can be allowed into optative hypothesis and counterfactual hypothesis.As for the constants,“Jiu Hao Le ”,there is an increasing trend in the degree of solidification and subjectivity.In terms of pragmatics,“X Jiu Hao Le” has a strong spoken color in the speech style,which can appear in explicit dialogue and implicit dialogue.In the text function,“X Jiu Hao Le” can start a topic,Continue a topic and end a topic.In the subjective expression function,“X Jiu Hao Le” has different subjective expression functions according to different contexts.Finally,this paper uses the grammaticalization theory to sort out the grammaticalization process of “X Jiu Hao Le” from a diachronic perspective.Syntactically,“X Jiu Hao Le” develops from “X Bian Hao Le”,and has successively derived a variety of constructive meanings,such as subjective imperative meaning,subjective approved meaning and subjective optative meaning.The motivations of its grammaticalization include the subjectivisation of the word “hao” and pragmatic reasoning,non-sentenceization and the economy principle of language.
