"V1shenme,(jiu) V2shenme" is a widely used expression in modern Chinese, but the research on this format limits much to its component "shenme", and the holistic study is still obviously insufficient."V1shenme,(jiu) V2shenme" is a pair of "form—meaning", its construction meaning is "unpredictable",and it is high-frequently used in modern Chinese, that is to say,"V1shenme,(jiu)V2shenme" is a typical construction, so it is possible to use the theory of Construction Grammar to study this formatThere are more than900examples of "V1shenme,(jiu) V2shenme" in CCL. We analyzed these corpus, and found that this construction consists of must ingredients ("shenme"and V)and may have ingredients (the subjects and "jiu")."shenme" in the construction of "V1shenme,(jiu) V2shenme" is not used as interrogative pronoun any more, but used as pronoun. The first "shenme" said virtual means, while the second one represents any means. This construction prefers to use simple verbs as its varied component V, which can be divided into volitional and non-volitional.Based on the logic point, the relationship between "V1shenme" and "V2shenme" can be as conditional relation. The basic meaning of "V1shenme,(jiu) V2shenme" can be expressed as:the things which make connection with V1will be concerned by V2with no exception. As to interaction, the construction will coerce the V when they conflict with each other; on the other hand, V and "shenme" can make contributions to the construction.At last, we studied the function of "V1shenme,(jiu) V2shenme"."V1shenme,(jiu) V2shenme" can be used as a independent sentence, a clause sentence, and different sentence components. As a interlinkage and cohesive device, the construction of "V1shenme,(jiu) V2shenme" can ensure the unity and coherence of the whole context. Furthermore, this construction has its own pragmatic function.It can be used not only to describe, but also to exaggerate.Construction Grammar is applied in this paper to analyze "Vishenme,(jiu) V2shenme".This can offer a new perspective to comprehensive the features and the function of this construction.Meanwhile, the conclusions we got may give some enlightenment to the teachers.
