In recent years,with the vigorous development of China’s education industry,the quantity and scale of all kinds of training schools are gradually expanding,and the training market is continuously flourishing.As an important part of consecutive interpretation,conference interpreting of education and training plays a positive role in promoting foreign exchange and cooperation in educational training industry,and in strengthening communication and understanding among faculties in various countries.This is a report on interpreting practice of “Looking for the Partners”introductory meeting in a training school.The theme of the meeting is to recruit partners for the children’s English training project.The author was entrusted to interpret the speaker’s speech from Chinese into English consecutively.The report analyzes the application of French interpretation theorist Seleskovitch’s Interpretative Theory in conference interpretation.In the process of interpretation,psychological pressure and imperfect cognition of related industries may lead to the interpreter’s misunderstanding to the speech,which will affect the quality of interpretation.This practice is a Chinese-English consecutive interpretation,which has brought challenges to the author due to the cultural differences and the interpretation of long sentences.In order to solve these problems,the author has made full preparation before interpreting and used strategies in the interpretation.Some cases selected in this report analyze and study the application of four interpreting strategies: amplification,omission,paraphrase and reformulation.Based on an in-depth study of the practice process,the author finds that the rational application of interpreting strategies can improve the quality and efficiency of interpretation,and the Interpretative Theory has great guiding significance to the interpreting practice.He hopes the report will provide reference and help for the research of conference interpretation in educational training industry. |
