A Report On Simulated Simultaneous Interpreting Of Huawei HongmengOS Press Conference

With the development of global economy,science and technology,all kinds of smart products,such as wireless earphone,smart bracelet,tablet and laptop computer etc.,have become indispensable necessities in people’s life.Therefore,many technology companies,such as the famous Apple Company,hold press conferences every year to launch and promote their newly developed products.With the continuous improvement of China’s comprehensive national strength,breakthroughs have been made in science and technology.In just a few decades,local Chinese technology companies such as Huawei and Xiaomi are rising rapidly and enjoying global brand influence.Huawei Hongmeng OS(also called Harmony OS)press conference,which was live broadcast online on multiple platforms at 20:00 P.M.on June 2,2021,was adopted by the author of this report as her simulated simultaneous interpretation task.In addition to the official launch of the Hongmeng OS,which can be installed in mobile phones and other mobile terminals,a number of terminal devices were also launched in the press conference.Guided by the interpretative theory of the French interpretative school,the author conducted simulated simultaneous interpretation of the press conference and made a detailed analysis of the difficulties and problems encountered in the interpretation before writing her practice report.This interpretation report consists of five parts.The first part is a description of the interpreting task,including the background,source,characteristics,purpose and significance of the task.The second part is about interpreting process,including preparations before interpreting,implementation of the interpreting task,selfevaluation after interpreting and existing problems.The third part is the theoretical framework.Interpretative theory and its application are expounded.The fourth part is case analysis,which mainly expounds and explains the skills based on the theory and the application of the theory.The fifth part is the summary,which includes the author’s self-reflection on the interpreting task and suggestions for future interpreting practice.
