Research On "Qingyuan Wenxian"

"Qingyuan Wenxian" was compiled by He Jiong in the Wanli Dingyounian(1597)of the Ming Dynasty.It is a collection of poems and essays by Quanzhou literati from the Tang Dynasty to the Ming Dynasty.This book contains a total of 12 odes,493 poems,and 430 articles.The selected authors ranged from the Qin Xi in the Tang Dynasty to the literati in the Wanli period in the Ming Dynasty,and included a total of 282 people.At present,there is no research on the book "Qingyuan Wenxian".In order to explore its value in depth,this article mainly discusses from the following four parts:The first part is the background of the writing of "Qingyuan Wenxian".This section examines material on the history of Fujian literature to discuss that the development of Quanzhou literature before the Ming Dynasty experienced four periods of beginning,prosperity,decline,and improvement.After examining the catalogue,I learned that there are two versions of "Qingyuan Wenxian" :Ming Dynasty The eighteen-volume engraved edition of the twenty-fifth year of Wanli(1597)and the twelve-volume collection of Cao Xiuxian,the minister of the Ministry of Rites in feudal China.This article is based on the eighteen-volume version of Qingyuan Literature that published by the Commercial Press as well as punctuation and collation by Chen Jincong.The second part is the compilation of "Qingyuan Wenxian".This section discusses from three aspects: editor’s research,compilation principles,and compilation style.Through consulting historical data,author discusses the origins of the He family in Qingyuan,He Jiong’s lifetime and friendship,and demonstrates that this book follows judge people by land and clan family lines,and preserves poetry and essays by people,and record people by poems and essays,and those who do not record the living will be supplemented by later generations.It also follows the compilation style of obedience to similarities,followed by time,character biographies,and poems attached.The third part is the content of "Qingyuan Wenxian".This book is divided into categories,and it contains various odes,poems and essays.The content mainly includes three aspects: famous mountains and rivers,history and culture,and literati groups.The famous mountain and river poems included in "Qingyuan Wenxian" can be divided into natural landscapes and characteristic products.Historical and cultural poems include the history of the county and the cultural landscape.In addition,this article also divides the literati in Quanzhou according to their identity.There are three types of civil and military officials,loyalty,filial piety and righteous person,and masters of neo-confucianism.The fourth part is the value of "Qingyuan Wenxian".The value of this book is mainly reflected in two aspects: one is the value of philology,which is mainly manifested in the preservation of lost,supplementary records,later references and historical value;the second is the value of regional literature,which is mainly manifested in the regionality of literati,poetic style,content.
