With the development of regional cooperation and integration, the cooperation and exchanges between China and the Caribbean are also deepening. It is of great significance for the Chinese people to understand the history and culture of the Caribbean. For this reason,it is increasingly important to translate historical literatures related to the Caribbean. This translation report is based on General History of the Caribbean Volume V,Chapter 7,The Cuban Revolution and Its Impact on the Caribbean.Under the guidance of Reception Aesthetics, this report analyzes how to apply appropriate translation methods and strategies to make adjustments,so as to ensure the accuracy, objectivity, and readability of the target version at the lexical, syntactic, and textual levels. At the lexical level, the author adopts semantic extension, conversion of parts of speech, amplification, and domestication,so that the translation is faithful to the original text and conforms to the expression habits of the target language, which make it easy for readers to accept. In terms of syntactic analysis,to achieve the desired translation purpose, the author uses the translation methods of adjusting the passive sentence, and splitting the sentence to deal with the passive sentence and the long and difficult sentence in the original text.In terms of text, the translator mainly starts from the cohesion and coherence of the text to analyze how to achieve the readability of the translated text.Through the above three levels of lexical, syntactic, and discourse adjustment, the purpose of translation has been achieved, and the author hoped that it can provide a reference for relevant researchers in the Caribbean region.
