The Study On Modaladverbs Of Suggestive Type

Modal adverbs have always been the focus of attention in linguistics,and scholars often put together the semantically common tone adverbs."bufang" "zuihao" "hebu" "haishi" and "gancui" all have the meaning of [+ suggestion],which means that the speaker makes suggestions to the listener.This article refers to this group of words as suggestive modality adverbs.This article takes suggestive modality adverbs as the research object.Based on the existing research,it discusses the modality,co-occurrence problems,focal structure,and thematic structure of suggested modality adverbs through research methods such as substitution and comparison,with the aim of seeking suggestions The semantic and functional differences of quasi-modal adverbs,and explore the underlying reasons for their differences.In the first chapter,we have conducted a more comprehensive investigation on the modal semantics of suggestive modality adverbs.We believe that suggestive modality adverbs are mainly distributed in dynamic modal sentences and moral modal sentences,and sometimes they can express appraisal modal meaning.In Chapter 2,we described the co-occurrence of suggestive mood adverbs and psychological verbs,judgment verbs "shi",verbs "shuo",phrase "chengzhiwei",and verb overlaps.And analyzed the reasons,and found that the co-occurrence depends on whether the semantics of the component matches the semantics of another component or the semantics of the sentence.In Chapter 3,we examine the focus function of suggested modality adverbs in the suggested context,and consider that the focus of the sentence is the predicate part after the suggested modality adverb,which belongs to the contrast focus.Adverbs of suggestive tone do not have the function of marking topic focus,but can roughly indicate contrast focus,which is an atypical focus mark.In addition,in the suggested context,suggestive modality adverbs can be used as presupposition triggers,and the triggered information is mainly the social relationship between the two parties in the conversation and the importance of the matter they are facing.Different suggested modal adverbs trigger different information.Chapter 4,we discusses the interactive subjectivity and thematic structure of suggestive modality adverbs.In terms of thematic structure,we believe that the linguistic phenomenon of suggestive modal adverbs at the beginning of a sentence is related to thematic structure.Suggested modal adverbs serve as interpersonal and textual themes at the beginning of sentences;"zuihao" "bufang" "hebu" "haishi" have polite function,while "gancui" does not have an obvious function of politeness.
