Research On The Flow Of International Students In China Under Social Network Analysis Perspective

Social network analysis originated in the 1930 s.It is a unique method of studying social structural relationships and their attributes.It can be used to measure the intricate relationships and connections between individuals and members of their social network,revealing the deeper meaning inside the network.This article will use the social network analysis method to conduct an in-depth study on the flow of foreign students at Lanzhou University,aiming to look at the education of foreign students from a new perspective,and more intuitively show the source of foreign students,the motivation of studying abroad,and the destination of employment.Therefore,from the perspective of social networks,this paper analyzes the data of density,average distance,centrality,and cohesive subgroups of international students’ school choice factors,career choice factors,school choice and career path etc,and reveals the internal relations among these factors as well as the status relations between the primary and secondary factors.In addition,SPSS software is used to analyze and describe the satisfaction of international students with the admissions and employment of Lanzhou University using traditional statistical methods.Based on the conclusions of the above-mentioned research,suggestions on the admissions and employment of Lanzhou University were put forward.In terms of enrollment,first of all,the school should use its overseas network to broaden the university’s enrollment channels in Asia and Africa and increase enrollment efforts.Second,to consolidate the central position of Lanzhou University in the network of overseas relatives and friends and strengthen its centrality,which requires expanding Lanzhou’s overseas influence and improving its international reputation.In addition,it is necessary to strengthen the connection between the international students on campus and the school,enhance the sense of belonging of the international students,and enrich their campus cultural life.Finally,we must use the strong relationship to strengthen the ties with the Confucius Institute co-founded with Lanzhou University.In terms of promoting the employment of international students,first of all,Lanzhou University should make use of the existing network to enrich the job search information of international students.Secondly,it is necessary to carry out online courses to cultivate the correct job hunting concepts for international students.Finally,it is necessary to strengthen the construction of the employment relationship network of international students,and make full use of the relationship network of graduated international students.
