This is a report based on the translation of Effecting Collective Impact Through Collective Leadership on a Foundation of Generative Relationships,which is Chapter15 from the book Global Health Security: Recognizing Vulnerabilities,Creating Opportunities edited by Anthony J Masys,et al.This paper,from the view of a former State Health Commissioner,shares the successful experience in Virginia during the Ebola concern in 2014.With the outbreak of the Covid-19,there is an increasing concern about the global health security.By choosing this source text as the translation project,the translator hopes to provide Chinese readers with some references on health security and management.In this report the framework of“Understanding,Expressing and Adapting”(UEA)is used to analyze the problems and solutions in the translation process,emphasizing the importance of critical thinking and research ability in the process of translation.This report consists of six chapters.Chapter one gives an introduction to the project background,significance and the structure of the report.Chapter two introduces the author and the main content of source text and also analyzes the source text type and language features.Chapter three elaborates on the translation process.Chapter four introduces the UEA framework and its theoretical basis.Chapter five provides examples to analyze the difficulties the translator encountered in this project and the solutions to deal with the difficulties in the UEA framework.The last chapter reviews the whole translation process,summarizing the competences required for a qualified translator and some suggestions to improve these competences.
