Research On Master Yuexi’s Buddhist Thought

Yuexi is an important monk in the modern history of China.He studied hard all his life,widely heard about Buddhism,learned both Chinese and Western culture,and learned from all living beings.Master Yuexi creatively explained the deep and obscure names such as "one thought without understanding","no beginning without understanding",and the abstract Dharma images such as "breaking six roots" and "realizing twelve causes";This paper points out the path from "relative Buddha nature" to "absolute Buddha nature",clearly demonstrates the fruit position of the Sancheng Buddhism,and analyzes the learning order of "Hinayana","Zhongcheng" and "Mahayana" by using rich Buddhist theories and easy to understand language.There is no doubt that master Yuexi has opened up another path for Chinese Zen to "attach equal importance to both understanding and practice" or "understand and practice".Here we learn that master Yuexi is knowledgeable,virtuous and profound,and has made outstanding contributions to the inheritance and development of Buddhist thoughts.This paper takes master Yuexi’s Buddhist thought as the research object,takes the origin and characteristics of his thought as the breakthrough point,analyzes the cultural background of the formation of master Yuexi’s Buddhist thought,explores master Yuexi’s integration of Confucianism and Taoism,and discusses master Yuexi’s selection and criticism of western philosophy,which lays the foundation for the formation of his Zen thought;This paper systematically combs master Yuexi’s Buddhist thoughts,comprehensively introduces master Yuexi’s Buddhist cultivation methods,and finally summarizes master Yuexi’s life and core thoughts.It is worth noting that master Yuexi’s Classics,such as Mahayana absolutism,origin and practice of Zen,Buddhist outlook on life,Dharma Q & A and Mahayana eight sect practice,are important reference materials for this paper.Specifically,the paper starts from the following aspects: the introduction part,through the research literature and related materials,summarizes the existing research on master Yuexi’s Buddhist thoughts,and determines the research direction and content of this paper.The first chapter systematically introduces master Yuexi’s life experience,and analyzes the reasons for the formation of his Buddhist thought and the process of his ideological development through his birth background and life experience.The second chapter discusses the origin and characteristics of master Yuexi’s Buddhism,deeply analyzes the influence factors of Confucianism,Taoism and western philosophy,and analyzes the characteristics of master Yuexi’s Buddhism.In the third chapter,the main idea of master Yuexi’s Buddhism is systematically discussed,and the core idea of master Yuexi’s Buddhism is deeply analyzed from three aspects of Mahayana absolutism,breaking ignorance and Buddhist outlook on life,that is,"breaking ignorance,starting ignorance and reaching absolute realm".In the fourth chapter,it makes a systematic exposition of master Yuexi’s Zen practice.Based on his classic Zen practice,it specifically analyzes the similarities and differences between Mahayana practice and Zen practice.In the conclusion part,it analyzes master Yuexi’s inheritance of Dharma pulse and his contribution to the development of Buddhism,and sums up the value of master Yuexi’s Buddhist thought.
