| In the 1980 s and 1990 s,the rapid development of the domestic market economy and the rise of popular culture promoted the shift of the media’s focus.The film and television industry prospered.The adaptation of novels into television dramas became a norm.Novels and films continued to interact with each other.A situation of mutual influence and joint promotion has taken shape.As two different media,fiction has a certain homogeneity with film and television,which makes their mutual transformation possible.Zhang Xin wanders freely between these media.She writes about the city and the south.Meanwhile,she tells daily stories amidst the prosperity of the city,reflecting the spirit of the times.From the perspective of cross-media narrative,there is intertextuality and interactivity between Zhang Xin’s novels and television series.In the dynamic flow of the story,the novel promotes the occurrence of film and television series adaptations with unique charm.Moreover,the film and television adaptation play a role in the novel.The creations blend with each other.Therefore,this thesis takes Zhang Xin’s eighteen novels and corresponding television series adaptation as the research object.From the perspective of cross-media narrative,this paper invokes the theories of communication and literature to explore the narrative characteristics of Zhang Xin’s novels and the corresponding television series.At the same time,it also analyzes the reasons why the novel is favored by directors and adapted many times.Finally,the relationship between novel and film and television media is clarified.This thesis is divided into four parts,for introduction,main text,conclusion and appendix.In the appendix,it counts Zhang Xin’s novels adapted into television series,making a table for reference.The introduction part elaborates the topic background,research status,concept determination and innovation of the thesis.The main body is divided into four chapters.The first chapter discusses Zhang Xin’s novel creation and the background of the corresponding television series adaptation,starting from the writer’s geographical environment and the trend of the times,exploring Zhang Xin’s novel creation with urban narrative as the theme and the origin of interaction with television series adaptation.The second chapter takes the text of Zhang Xin’s novel as the object,discussing the fit between Zhang Xin’s novel and the adaptation of television.It is from two dimensions of the unique and colorful urban narrative content in Zhang Xin’s novel as well as the narrative basis of the novel.The third chapter focuses on the adaptation of TV series as the medium of film and television.According to the theory of “encoding and decoding” in communication,it analyzes the narrative reconstruction after the media conversion from novel to film and television from two aspects: audio-visual interpretation and narrative strategy.The fourth chapter has an overall grasp of audience analysis under the context of cross-media narrative.It is mainly targeted at readers of Zhang Xin’s novels and audiences of television series.This chapter seeks to balance analysis between readers of the novel and viewers of the television series.Not only does it use the theory of “reception aesthetics” in literature,but also uses the theory of“audience research” in communication.The conclusion part summarizes the influence of cross-media narration on Zhang Xin’s novels and corresponding adaptations.It points out that this phenomenon promotes the symbiosis and limitations of Zhang Xin’s novels and television.It is undeniable that Zhang Xin’s novels and TV series adaptations have certain epochal significance,which has enlightenment for the current film adaptations and the future direction of Zhang Xin’s creation. |
