Research On The Present Situation And Transmission Effect Of Chinese In Laos From The Perspective Of Language Landscape

As a Southeast Asian country adjacent to China,Laos has a superior geographical position,which makes the Chinese language spread and develop well in Laos.Linguistic landscape is the representative of urban language image,and the choice and use of language codes in landscape represent the communication ability of language.Therefore,based on the results of the survey and research on the Linguistic landscape in Laos,this paper analyzes the effect of Chinese communication in Laos.In this paper,the linguistic landscape of the Chinese and non-Chinese communities in Vientiane is taken as the research object,and the questionnaire survey method and interview method are adopted in combination with the relevant theories of language landscape,through specific analysis,the following conclusions are drawn:In the linguistic landscape of the Chinese community,the monolingual signs are mainly Chinese（52.85%）,the bilingual signs are mainly Lao +English（39.22%）,the multilingual signs are mainly Lao + English +Chinese（72.09%）;In the linguistic landscape of non-Chinese communities,the monolingual signs are mainly English（60.50%）,the bilingual signs are mainly Lao+ English（65.18%）,and the multilingual signs are mainly Lao + English +Chinese（51.86%）;In terms of the language use characteristics of Chinese,it is mainly reflected by the characters and language and culture characteristics;In the function of Chinese,information function is the main function;In terms of the factors influencing the effectiveness of Chinese communication,this paper finds that the linguistic landscape is not standardized and the language image is not beautiful,which has a certain impact on the effectiveness of Chinese communication.Finally,this paper puts forward some suggestions to promote the use of Chinese in Laos: the linguistic landscape builders should strengthen the use of standard Chinese,the Lao government should strengthen the information management of language signs,the Lao government should encourage the public to pay more attention to the Chinese language signs.
