In recent years,The advancement of urbanization has intensified the flow of population,and the language environment in cities has become more complicated.As social and commercial expressions can generally reflect a city’s attitude towards language and thus show people’s psychological orientation towards a certain language,the object of this survey chooses Wanda Plaza,the largest commercial syntheses in Baoding city.This dissertation investigates the language use of customers and employees in Baoding Wanda Plaza by means of questionnaire and interview,and makes statistical analysis on their language use,language ability and language attitude by using SPSS to find out the significant factors affecting their language use,language ability and language attitude.At the same time,the language landscape of Baoding Wanda Plaza was recorded by taking photos on the spot,and the collected pictures were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively to understand the overall situation of language use in Baoding Wanda Plaza.Through the language status of these two sections,the language life status of Wanda Plaza,a micro community,is comprehensively displayed,and then reflects the language life status of large commercial complexes in medium-sized cities in China,enriching and improving the content of urban language survey.This dissertation consists of four portions.The first portion includes the first and second chapters.The introduction chapter introduces the reason of topic selection,research purpose and significance,research status,research content and innovation and research methods.The second chapter introduces the basic situation of Baoding Wanda Plaza and the personal information of respondents in the questionnaire survey.The second portion includes chapters three to five.The third chapter examines the language use of employees and customers in the face of different communication objects and finds out the significant factors influencing the language use of employees and customers through multiple linear regression analysis.The fourth chapter examines the Mandarin and dialect abilities of employees and customers and finds out the factors that affect their Mandarin and dialect abilities.The fifth chapter examines the linguistic attitudes of employees and customers towards Mandarin and dialects,and analyzes the factors affecting their linguistic attitudes.The third portion is the content of chapter six.Chapter six uses the theory of linguistic landscape to analyze the functional differences of linguistic landscape from the aspects of the number of codes,types of codes,dominant languages and the use of fonts,as well as the use of vocabulary,characters and Pinyin.The last portion is the epilogue,summarizes the full text of this paper,and points out the inadequacies.
