A Report On The E-C Translation Of The UK Academic System

This report is a translation practice report on the E-C translation of A Guide to the UK Academic System Report.The academic system report is an informative text describing the methods and processes of talent training.In view of the characteristics of the text,the translation is mainly guided by Nord’s “functionality plus loyalty” theory in solving and dealing with the problems.The translation issues addressed in this translation include three aspects: the translation of the original author’s thoughts,the translation of the source language culture,and the translation of the original style.In order to achieve functional and loyal translation effects,the translator adopts the strategies of splitting method,the literal translation method and the comprehensive translation method.Through this report,we hope to provide a reference for the E-C translation of academic system reports in universities.This report mainly consists of four parts: a description of the translation task;the translation process;case analysis;summarizing and reflecion on the relevant issues in translation practice.
