| This report is based on an English-Chinese translation practice of the "Tsingtao Beer" project that the author has participated in from September 2020 to July 2021.The news are collected from different internationally renowned English websites,all of which are timely and valuable news about the beer industry.The news are translated into Chinese by the translators and then posted on the domestic websites for readers to read and broaden their horizons.The news include but are not limited to the latest trends of the global beer and beverage industry,the impact of various policies on alcohol sales introduced by governments during the COVID-19 pandemic,and the latest business strategies of the world brewing groups.The report is divided into five parts,of which the main part is the fourth part.In Chapter 4,the author mainly explores how to use appropriate translation strategies to fulfill the task and meet the client’s requirements under the guidance of the German translation scholar Christiane Nord’s functional translation theory.The texts for this translation practice are informative texts.In the process of practice,the author strives to achieve functional equivalence between the original text and the target text based on the text analysis model and the principle of functionality plus loyalty.The author hopes that this translation practice will draw the attention of more scholars to the news of the beer industry,and also do a small part for translators in other related industries. |
