A Practice Report On The Simulated Chinese-English Consecutive Interpreting Of Talk Show" Looking At The Front Line Of The Resumption Of Industry"

This is a practice report on simulated consecutive interpreting.The source text is selected from the first and second episodes of "Dialogue",a talk show at CCTV-2 entitled "Looking at the front line of the resumption of industry" on April 25 and May 2,2020.It is about the development of enterprises under the impact of COVID-19.The report describes the whole process of the interpretation task from preparation to completion and analysis.The text of this practice report has the typical characteristics of a talk show: randomness and immediacy.The dialogue between the host and the guest is featured in loose sentence structure,incomplete information,and insufficient content.The interpreter summarizes the difficulties of interpreting in practice,including redundancy,ambiguity,and the problem caused by logic and effort coordination.Through analysis of the records during the interpretation process,the interpreter puts forward some coping strategies:literal translation,free translation,omission,induction,amplification,and recombination.The interpreter hopes to deeply reflect on the interpreting task and put forward more targeted strategies to solve these difficulties.And the interpreter also hopes to provide reference for the interpretation of talk shows,and to adopt corresponding interpretation strategies for different difficulties,so as to ensure the accuracy of the interpretation.
