The Confucian Temples are important places for worshiping Confucius.In the long-term development,Confucian Temples were built next to the school,forming a“combination of temple and school ” regulations.And then Official Shrine and Local Celebrities Shrine,Loyal-Filial-Piety-Shrine,and the kitchen,the library,fasting place,and the house of teacher and instructor for sacrifice and teaching was gradually built in the Confucian Temples and popularized throughout the country.It became a unique architectural complex in each region during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.Because of its functions of education and enlightenment,The Confucian Temple is also called "School Temple","Temple School" or "School Palace".At the same time,due to the differences in natural and humanistic factors,the Confucian Temples in various places have shown a certain personality.The northern area of Shandong province is densely located in Zou Lu,"The neighbors are prosperous,and the remaining gloss is flowing." Therefore the development of the Confucian Temples of northern area of Shandong province in the Ming and Qing Dynasties is still worthy of discussion..Based on the materials from the local chronicles of Dezhou during the Ming and Qing dynasties,this article analyzes the Confucian Temples in the northern region of Shandong Province.In addition to the introduction,it is divided into three parts.The first part discusses the construction of the Confucian Temple in the North of Shandong Province.It first uses the praise of Confucius by the rulers of the past dynasties as a clue to outline the historical development and popularization of the local Confucian Temples in China.Then,it analyzes the constituent elements of the Confucian Temple building system in the North of Shandong Province.It also analyzes the frequent construction of local Confucian temples and the specific influencing factors in the construction of Confucian temples in various places,focusing on the role of local families and scholars in the management of Confucian temples.The second part discusses the sacrifices of the Confucian Temple in the North of Shandong Province.,from the perspectives of the people who worship,the issues related to the rituals of Shi Dian,Shi Cai,and Shangxiang,and the Confucian Temple sacrifice funds.The third part discusses the role played by the Confucian Temples in the local society: inspiring the academic atmosphere,and cultivating talents for the country;reviving the culture,continuing the Confucian orthodoxy;influencing people and forming moral customs,and maintaining social stability.
