| With the progress of “ The Belt and Road ” construction and the in-depth development of overseas Confucius Institutes and Confucius Classrooms,China’s international prestige and influence have also increased remarkably.Particularly in recent years,the "Chinese fever" has been on the rise globally,which presents both an opportunity and a challenge for the international promotion of Chinese language and the development of the Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages major.Especially since the first half of 2020,the COVID-19 has broken out on a global scale,which has also had a great impact on the cultivation and development of the MTCSOL.The Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages(hereinafter referred to as "MTCSOL")is an important engine to promote the development of international Chinese education.As of May 2020,there are as many as 152 colleges and universities nationwide have opened the MTCSOL program,which have achieved a certain scale in terms of quantity,but there are still some shortcomings in terms of training quality.Especially under the influence of the COVID-19,MTCSOL students’ learning mode,employment and internships,graduate thesis writing as well as career planning have undergone great changes.In consequence,the investigation and research based on the training of MTCSOL students in the post-epidemic era has certain practical significance.This article is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly introduces the research background,significances,thoughts,methods,and innovation points.Besides,the current situation of the development and culture of Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages(MTCSOL)in China has been organized in this section.The second part is an overview of the five universities in Shandong Province that set up the MTCSOL program.While the third part adopts questionnaire and interviewing methods to conduct a survey design and statistical analysis of the status quo of MTCSOL at these five universities in Shandong Province.The following fourth part aims to analyze the five universities’ MTCSOL training problems and causes in the post-epidemic era,which is also the core content of the thesis.In this part,based on questionnaires and interviews,the author firstly makes an in-depth analysis of these five universities from the aspects of curriculum,training mode,thesis writing,and employment practice in order to explore a kind of MTCSOL program training model with the characteristics of "Qilu culture" in the new period.Then,the SWOT analysis theory is used to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the development of MTCSOL at these five universities in Shandong Province in the post-epidemic era,and the opportunities and challenges faced by MTCSOL in the post-epidemic era are put forward.And finally,the fifth part,aiming at the existing problems and challenges,puts forward corresponding strategies and suggestions from five aspects: discipline construction,training mode,curriculum setting,Research on Chinese Language Teaching,internship and employment,hopes to make some contribution to the development of the Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages in the new phase and to promote the Chinese better approach to the world. |
