The sudden epidemic has affected thousands of students around the world.The author took advantage of the opportunity of practicing Chinese international education in Egypt to investigate online Chinese teaching and try to put forward countermeasures and suggestions.Through questionnaires and interviews,it is learned that with the gradual rise of the epidemic,the online teaching of the Confucius Institute in Egypt is greatly affected by network conditions.Most teaching activities are difficult to achieve.The online teaching method of recording and broadcasting is basically adopted,but after more than a year of exploration and practice online Chinese language teaching has basically formed a system.The specific content is as follows:The first chapter is the introduction,including the reason for the topic selection,research significance,research status and research methods.The second chapter describes the development of Chinese language education in Egypt and the current distribution of educational resources.The Chinese language education in Egypt is closely related to the economic and political exchanges between China and Egypt.Now Chinese education resources are mainly concentrated in the two established Confucius Institutes,and the rest are scattered in Confucius Classrooms and Chinese departments of major universities,forming a trend of "large settlements,small dispersions".Chapter 3 is a survey of online Chinese teaching in Confucius Institutes in Egypt.Currently,there is a shortage of Chinese teachers in Egypt.The number of Chinese teachers in the two Confucius Institutes has dropped sharply from nearly 80 to less than 15.Through questionnaire surveys and interviews with Confucius Institute teachers and students who have adhered to the front line of online teaching since the epidemic(or at that time),12 teacher questionnaires and 105 student questionnaires were collected,and 10 teachers and 10 students were interviewed in depth.According to the survey,the online education of the Confucius Institute in Egypt is greatly affected by the network,the classroom interaction is reduced,and the classroom monitoring is poor.The problem lies in the network rather than the platform.Chapter 4 integrates the questionnaire survey data and interview records of the teachers and students of the Confucius Institute,and analyzes the main online teaching models of the Confucius Institute since the epidemic.Firstly,it analyzes the factors that affect online Chinese teaching at the Confucius Institute in Egypt from the perspectives of economy,teachers,and education policies under the epidemic.Then,starting from the online teaching platform and actual teaching situation of the Confucius Institute,the two major Confucius Institutes’ teaching models and platforms are compared and analyzed.Their respective advantages and problems in terms of use effect and so on.Chapter 5 proposes suggestions for online Chinese teaching at the Confucius Institute in Egypt in the post-epidemic era.This article attempts to explore the ways to improve the online teaching of the Confucius Institute from the perspectives of education policies,school administrators,teachers,and students,in order to provide a reference for online teaching in a special period.
